Ok so here goes posting pics of Crook's Corner!

That's across the Limpopo to Zim

That's looking South towards Mozambique.

I think I might just get the hang of this :)

Amazing to think that the only time I was there, we stood on the dry river bed. No water to be seen other than in the meeting place between the dry Limpopo river bed and the flowin Levhuvu river. scary part is that this was late Decembr 2008, and not in the winter months.

Storm closing in on this area now from west - just as the Crocodile river was beginning to drop a little and maybe allow CB to open......!

Binkieloo, wonderful sight of the Limpopo river so full, we were there at the end of Feb and it was looking good then but looks even fuller now judging from your pic. :D
I would also like to know if the Letaba has much water in it now as it was really low in Feb.

We were in Kruger Feb 2009 and had the awesome privilege of seeing the Shingwedzi, Letaba, Olifants & Sabie all coming down in "flood".

The most impressive was the Olifants ......... what a sight it was watching the Olifants from the Olifants Camp

Hardly any water to be seen in the Letaba during mid March Elsa. :slap:

I don't know if my eyes are deceiving me  , but I am sure I can see rain on the Satara and Orpen webcams ? In fact it was quite wet there a few days ago as well :D . Where can one find out how much rain has fallen in Kruger in the past month, or maybe an annual rainfall record ?

Fatcat look to the left , see the hang down menu ?

Click on "Scientific Services"
then click then on "KNP"
Then click on "Weather"

The last figures were of June rainfall .
The moisture (I also noticed it) was most probably to that during the winter months when a cold front passes up the east coast it often introduces moisture which causes occasional showers (mostly early morning drizzle) due to the relative close proximity of the coast and the absence of an escarpment .
